Valentine’s Day is right around the corner meaning you only have a few days left to make it a night that you’ll never forget. You might be having trouble coming up with a way to celebrate with your loved one. Well no one ever said that you could only celebrate on February 14th. While sending a surprise delivery of flowers or getting a yummy box of chocolates is a great public display of affection the day of, there are plenty of other ways to spread the love this holiday. Dine In for Valentine’s Day
Instead of fighting for a spot at a crowded restaurant, get takeout from your favorite place. Then you can bring it home and relax on the couch or find a cute place outside to sit and eat, like on the beach, at a local park, or on a romantic rooftop. This way you get to have amazing food and company, without being distracted by all of the other couples around you. Catch the sunset or set up candles to add even more to the setting. Whether you’re in a new relationship or have been dating for year, take this time to learn something new about each other. Learning more about your partner will build a stronger and more meaningful relationship in the long run. If you’re surprising your loved one with a meal, send him/her some Valentine’s Day flowers the day of and write a hint about your night in the card.
Get in a Workout
Endorphins make people happy; Elle Woods told us so. What better way to feel good on Valentine’s Day than by getting in a good workout session. If you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day early, go for a hike or bike ride and enjoy the weather if it’s nice out. If that isn’t an option, hit the gym and try a new workout class together. This might not be a normal way to celebrate, but it certainly is unique. Doing the same thing every year gets boring, right? Once you’ve gotten in a great workout, you won’t feel as bad indulging in a little sweets. Plus, if you gym has a sauna or steam room, you could treat yourself to a little TLC before finishing the night. If not, take some time together and pamper yourselves at home.
Doing something good for someone or something else will make your heart full of love this Valentine’s Day. Volunteering is an amazing way to spread love and give back to your community. Gathering together your friends or loved one and volunteering together builds a lasting memory! There are a variety of ways that you can give back, even if you can’t leave your home. From nursing homes to animal shelters, a little extra attention could make a world of a difference. Take pictures when you are out and about, and then put together a handmade book collage or calendar of your experience. That way you can remember it for years to come.
