Whether you’ve spent the last few months working at your kitchen table or you have a dedicated home office, a quarantine renovation is in order! Revamping a workspace is the easiest way to stay motivated and excited to work every day. Here are a few simple tips for renovating your home office space during COVID-19 this fall:
Find a Space to Call Your Own
If you are in fact sharing a table with a roommate or significant other, it’s time to find your own place to work. Whether it’s a small corner in the kitchen or a room with no purpose that’s currently collecting dust and random objects, transform the space into your own. Having your own space will keep you focused and productive as we continue into our WFH schedules.
If you’re already working out of an existing office space but you feel as though it could use some work, start by getting the room organized. Remove all of the unnecessary clutter such as bulky pieces of furniture, irrelevant trinkets and old papers that are simply collecting dust. Invest in a bookshelf, filing cabinet and other storage spaces to keep a pristine home office that is less distracting and more motivating.
Remember: Less is More
In the process of getting your home office more organized, keep in mind the common phrase “less is more.” The less clutter there is to distract you, the greater your chances of staying on track to complete your work. During the revamping process, you may feel more inclined to invest in new furniture and accessories, but keeping these objects to a minimum can work to your advantage. Even a neutral or light paint color on the walls can be more beneficial for you and still make a huge difference in the look and feel of the room.
Add a Few Finishing Touches
Once you have the workspace put together from a foundational aspect, focus on the finishing touches. Less is certainly more, but that doesn’t mean you should totally neglect the opportunity to show your personality through creative accessories. Candles, wall art and area rugs are all simple items that can make a major difference in the appearance and atmosphere. This is also a great opportunity to add a houseplant or fresh bouquet of flowers. We have plenty of options that can revamp your work from home office and add a breath of fresh air to your space.
