All moms really want for Mother’s Day is to spend some quality time with their family. Of course, a beautiful bouquet of flowers never hurts, but memories are something that will last forever. If you don’t have a gift yet or are on a budget this year, we have a few ideas of how you can still make it an amazing day for your mom. Here are a few things to do with Mom on Mother’s Day to make it a day she will never forget.
This is one of the most popular Mother’s Day traditions, and for a good reason. There are few other ways to completely relax and escape reality for a little bit. Whether there is a movie you know your mom would love to see in theater or she has a favorite that she never gets to watch, let it be her pick completely! Get some popcorn, her favorite candy, and whatever else would make the movie even more enjoyable. This is the perfect tradition to have with Mom!
You can certainly do a wonderful at-home version of a spa day, but splurging on an actual trip to a spa together is a win-win for everyone! Mom gets to spend time with her kids, and you get to relax and reenergize after a long winter. Find a place where you can get your treatment and then just spend the day using their additional amenities like the sauna, steam room, showers, etc for a full day of bonding and TLC.
Plant Some Flowers
If your mom has a green thumb, help her out in the garden to clean up from winter and plant fresh new flowers and plants to bloom in summer. If the weather is nice, getting some much needed vitamin D is a great way to spend the day. Gardening is therapeutic and actually a great form of exercise. Plus, it will make her happy all summer long because she will not only have something beautiful to look at, but she will have the memories of an amazing day together. Make some yummy snacks and her favorite refreshment and start digging!
Do Chores Around the House
Give your mom a break around the house. Ask her in advance to give you a list of everything that she wants done and then let her hang out and relax while you get it all taken care of. While technically this isn’t doing something together, you can spend time with her while you are making big dents on the to-do list if she stays home for the day. Plus, she will likely try and help you to, since no one can do her chores as well as she can. Either way, she will really appreciate all of the help!
While buying a gift is always exciting, spending time with Mom is an amazing way to celebrate the holiday. We hope you like list of things to do with Mom on Mother’s Day. We would love to hear what you are doing with your Mom on Sunday below!
